Description: White powder or crystalline solid, having a slightly acid taste. It is soluble in alcohol and is soluble in water slightly, but insoluble inchoroform.

Application: Fumaric acid is used as the food acid, which plays an important role in restraining the fungus and antiseptic. It is the intermedium of such meticulous chemicals as medicine and optics bleaching agent, etc. Fumaric acid is also used for producing the unsaturated polyester resin.
